By entering the Brittany Ferries’ Holiday France Photos competition, you accept the Terms and Conditions set out below and the rules of entry.
Who can enter
This competition is open to anyone based in the UK or France who does not earn their primary income from photography, which for the purpose of this competition, means they are NOT a professional photographer.
- There are ten categories: Regions of France, Active France, Attractions, Historic Sites & Monuments, Beaches & the Coast, Events & Festivals, French Life, My Corner of France, My Family Holiday, Places, Travel. When uploading your photo(s), please specify to which category they apply as well as the region of France in which the photo was taken.
- Employees (and their families) of Brittany Ferries, and any affiliates, subsidiary companies, as well as representatives or agents of Brittany Ferries and anyone else who may be involved or connected with the competition/ promotion, are not eligible to enter.
- Entries will only be accepted if they are uploaded (and subsequently approved) on the www.holidayfrancephotos.com website.
- We reserve the right to request high-res files or the original negatives/slides as part of the judging process and when reproducing the images.
The judging
All entries will be judged by a panel comprising representatives from Brittany Ferries (www.brittany-ferries.co.uk) and their integrated online marketing agency, Strange Corporation (www.strangecorp.com).
Six entries will be short-listed and three of these will then be selected as either first, second and third prize winners. The judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding this decision. The winners will be notified by post or email and announced on www.holidayfrancephotos.com within 30 days of judging.
The prizes
Each quarter, we will be giving away three Brittany Ferries Ferry & Holiday prize vouchers to the best three photos as judged by our panel. The prizes are as follows:
- 1st Prize: £1000
- 2nd Prize: £750
- 3rd Prize: £500
The vouchers can be used by the named holder against any Brittany Ferries ferry crossing or ferry-inclusive holiday or break.
The closing date for each quarter of the competition is as follows:
- February 1st 2008
- May 1st 2008
- August 1st 2008
- November 1st 2008
Any entries received after these dates will be judged in the subsequent quarters’ activity except for the final quarter.
- The prize vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or an alternative prize and travel dates, cabins and properties are subject to availability.
- Certain busy sailings during British school holidays may be excluded.
- Winners are responsible for any taxes associated with their prize. The promoter accepts no liability whatsoever of any damage or loss or earnings that may be caused by any prize awarded in this competition.
- If any winner is not able for whatever reason to accept the prize, or if we are unable to locate the winner, within a reasonable time frame, using the contact details supplied by the winner on entry, then we reserve the right to award the prize to another participant.
Prize voucher usage terms and conditions
The prize vouchers cannot be exchanged in part or whole for cash and is not transferable
Onboard dining vouchers are excluded
Personal travel insurance is excluded
All prize vouchers will be valid for travel for 1 year from date of issue

Copyright and picture usage
Copyright of all images remains with the photographer.
Brittany Ferries retain the right to use any of the submitted entries, including any of the short-listed entries, to publicise the competition on our website(s).
Brittany Ferries retains the right to use any of the submitted entries in their marketing and promotional material.
Brittany Ferries policy for those aged under 13
Brittany Ferries encourages parents and guardians to spend time on-line with their children and to participate in any interactive activities on our sites or on sites where we are being promoted.
Brittany Ferries does not use any information collected from persons under age 13 for any marketing purposes. If a person requests information about our site or services then we will send this information to the parent or guardian only. For this we will also require consent from the parent or guardian.
Entrants under 13 years of age must obtain permission from a parent or guardian before entering this competition and must submit the contact details of their parent or guardian. Brittany Ferries reserves the right to invalidate entries or the prize winner(s) if the appropriate authorisation is or was not provided.
No purchase is necessary to enter.
